Iโm delighted to share that the August 2025 special issue of Sociological Methods & Research on Generative AI is out now. Along with my co-editor, Daniel Karell, we put together this issue to build on the conference we organized last year.
Here's a thread on each of the ten papers:

Is it true that women have more neighborly relations with other women than with men?
The survey finds show that 78% of a womanโs neighborhood network is made up of other women whereas only 60% of a manโs neighborhood network is made up of men.

I love research notes.
But they shouldn't be used as a "blocking" competitive move. Just dumping a shitty graph because you liked someone's idea but were too lazy, competitive or insecure to collaborate is just bad science. ๐

Sometimes, a descriptive figure is worth more than a thousand model coefficients: the importance of data description in social research
Many social research questions aim at understanding relationships between different phenomena, and increasingly complex multivariate statistical models are often employed to address these questions...
Finally got this banger of a title out:
If your descriptive figures and your model tell different stories, trust the figure. (And maybe rethink the model.)
