Given that an RPG hardcover these days can run you anywhere from $50 to $70 and up, I think it would be appropriate to start explicitly rating published books on construction quality as well as content. How sturdy is the binding, how heavy/thick is the paper, etc. We're certainly paying enough.

Alien: Earth features the franchise' most horrific monster yet in the form of a corporate CEO who is clearly an unholy amalgamation of Musk and Zukerberg. Truly terrifying stuff.

Never been able to do a full evil run in a video game, I literally can't deal with making NPCs sad.

We're they only released physically overseas or something?

Very much looking forward to watching Alien: Earth tonight but also scared about what happens to the sheep. :(

If I can get up the motivation at some point I'll do an essay on the evolution of the Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout, the modern obsession with making absolutely everything morally gray, and why maybe we just need some streight up good guys/folks in fiction once in a while.

I want to try the Fallout TTRPG now...so many games I want to play, so few gaming sessions...

I think the biggest mechanical mistake 5E made is only giving most characters a feat pick every 4 levels. Build choices are fun and you should get more chances to make them.

I think a cool Fallout character would be a Mr. Gutsy who was mistakenly loaded with a Mr. Handy personality routine. Extremely violent while being exceptionally polite about it. High moral standards, low threshold for use of lasers.

You don't play Fallout for a few years and you forget the simple pleasures of coming across two groups you don't like fighting each other and then launching a missile into the middle of the fracas.

I've long thought this should exist in real life, so I built it behind my Minuteman HQ in Sanctuary Hills in my current Fallout 4 game, across from the town market. Seemed appropriate.

It contains a broken toilet and a disco ball.

3/ That said, if the parking lot is for a particular business or organization with a front desk you could hand it to in case someone comes asking for it, that would be restorative (to the best your ability).

2/ Donating will not serve to make the person who lost it 'whole' or otherwise serve as any other kind of restorative justice. It's certainly a nice and generous thing to do to donate it, but I do not think it comes with any 'extra' obligation.

1/ If there is no realistic way to give the person who lost it an opportunity to reclaim it, then I think it's yours. I don't think you're under any greater obligation to donate it than any other resource you might acquire by random chance.

4/ I get to not be the center of attention during most of my waking hours, and I certainly don't need to spend $60-$80 to also not be the center of attention in fantasy land. So, I don't know...maybe just chill out and enjoy the hero experience? It will be over soon enough, I promise.

3/ ...and when we play a video game, it's for a taste of experiences we don't get in real life. It's fun playing Civilization as the person running that civ, and I don't get to run a civ in real life, so yeah, you're the center of attention, because you're playing, it's about you, that's the point.

2/ There are some games that specifically set up an everyman 'you're just a normal person, nothing special' narrative, but for a lot of big titles that's not the case. This shouldn't be surprising, most of us spend the majority of our lives as one in a crowd...

1/ A frequent complaint I see of many video games is that the PC is unrealistically the center of attention right away, and it makes no sense. I get what they're saying, but at the same time...yes, the PC should be the center of attention, because they're the one playing the game.

5/ And it's not something that's anyone's fault, but the game (at least in the case of D&D) doesn't really have any mechanics to deal with 'player has rolled ones and twos all afternoon, is having a bad time.'
