Agree! I wear hearing aids and if I’m far away, I can’t hear. I cringe whenever someone says they will just use their teacher voice. I try to sit up front just in case.

If students don't come to school, they can't learn.
If students are afraid to come to school, they can't learn.
If students come to school but don't feel safe there, they can't learn.
If students come to school but aren't welcome to be themselves there, they can't learn.

This is what made me feel old today. First graders were using “best friends of 10” (addends that make 10) & I was trying to emphasize they always go together.

Me: you know, like a superhero and their sidekick, like Batman and Robin.

With lower elementary I have mostly focused on because/but/so. I often use it in conjunction with a sentence pattern chart and it helps produce good ideas at the sentence level. I haven’t used the SPO or MPO at all.

Just finished reading both of these. Highly recommended The Writing Revolution! So many good ideas. The content in both was fairly similar, but TRW was better IMO.

I’m loving it so far! I feel like the first part was really the area of growth for me (word recognition) and now the language comprehension pieces are so affirming that we are doing great things with our lessons!

I have mine organized in categories with labeled tabs, and I love being able to close the ones I’m not currently working with. So helpful to me!
