Rapid decline of SARS-CoV-2βspecific salivary IgA antibody levels in people with hybrid immunityβdata from the STOPCoV study
Abstract. Hybrid immune individuals who experience an infection after a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) mRNA vaccine series sh
When comparing salivary IgA antibody levels in those with vaccine-only vs vaccine-and-infection immunity, researchers found that IgA levels to spike and RBD are high in those with hybrid immunity but low in those with vaccine-only immunity. Read more: ow.ly/Xg8W50XNcci.

Detection of pre-existing immunity to bacterial Cas9 proteins in people with cystic fibrosis

Researchers sought to determine if pre-existing immunity to Cas9 fromβ―S. aureusβ―orβ―S. pyogenesβ―was present or augmented in people with cystic fibrosis (CF), as a cure for #CF will likely require a gene therapy approach. Learn more in ImmunoHorizons: ow.ly/9MUj50XsYlK.

STING agonists differentially upregulate CCL22 and IFNΞ². HeLa (AβD) and MCF7 cells (EβH) were treated with 30βΞΌM of each indicated STING agonist or DMSO vehicle control (for diABZI) for 24βhours, then harvested in TRIzol for RNA purification and RT-qPCR using TaqMan assays for CCL22 or IFNΞ². Error bars represent SDs of independent biological replicates. Statistical analyses were performed on log-transformed data using unpaired, 2-tailed t tests except for (C) and (G), which were analyzed with a one-way ANOVA and Ε ΓdΓ‘k multiple comparisons test. * P < 0.05; ** P < 0.01; *** P < 0.001; **** P < 0.0001; ns, not significant.
Researchers found that exogenous type I interferons, a major downstream product of STING activation, also upregulateβ―CCL22β―in cancer cells via a STING-dependent mechanism and that exogenous IFN-Ξ² can directly activate STING. Learn more in ImmunoHorizons: ow.ly/C11i50Xmw7h
