How cool is this new work from the Bienkowski lab?
CA1 of mouse hippocampus has 4 layers of specialized cell types. "This...changes our understanding of how information is processed...and could explain why certain cells are more vulnerable in diseases like Alzheimerโ€™s and epilepsy."

In this new paper, led by Dr. Allie Clark:
-People with low resources & high distress had smaller hippocampi & thinner cortex in AD-relevant regions compared with people having more resources and less distress.
-Low resources (regardless of distress) were associated with accelerate brain aging.
