I finished The Memory Police by Yōko Ogawa in two days. It felt very similar to The Yellow Wallpaper, with how we watch the unnamed MC descent. I wished for more worldbuilding, but without getting into spoiler territory, it was still a v good ending #booksky 📚💙🪐

I absolutely agree! It's the second Le Guin book I've read (the first was the Left Hand of Darkness ofc), and I am shelling out some money for the sequels to Earthsea!

The prose seems to be quite polarizing, and lots of reviews on Storygraph say it was long-winded or DNF'd it. I thought the writing style made it feel more like a document from another world or an authentic old epic.

I've learned that this is an unpopular opinion, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula Le Guin. I'm only sad that my local library only carries the first novel 😭 #booksky #fantasy 📚💙🪐
