With most RIPTA services back on schedule, our neighbors shouldnโt be forced to wait out on the street.
So the last two days, weโve been carving out some small paths to improve accessibility! ๐๐

Earlier today, East Providence received much-needed assistance from the RI National Guard to support their snow removal operations.
Our office is now urging Governor McKee to provide the same support to our Providence community.
Itโs Monday, February 23rd and we are expecting heavy winds and snowfall throughout the day. This morning over 35,000 households are without power, so if you lose power, contact RI Energy at 855-743-1101 โ ๏ธ
Stay safe neighbors and get ready to throw snowballs later! โ๏ธ
Neighbors, with a โBlizzard Warningโ issued for 4pm and projections estimating 18 to 24 inches of snow, please take the time to grab essentials, from food to candles!
And if you see an unhoused neighbor, please contact the Matthewson Street Church so a volunteer can connect them with shelter ๐ซถ๐พ
We must carry on Reverend Jacksonโs fight for justice. We must remind ourselves that we all deserve to be respected, protected, and never rejected.โฃ

Through the Rainbow Coalition, Reverend Jackson made a long-lasting impact on progressivismโuniting Americans across race, religion, and class to champion equality in education, housing, and labor, while demanding accountability from corporate elites.

Yesterday, we approved a loan of $18 million to help โCenturionโ purchase Roger Williams and Fatima Hospital.
While this was an important investment to prevent two important hospitals from closing, it is now Centurionโs responsibility to guarantee safe staffing and quality care for our neighbors!

Like many small businesses along Hope Street and across our commercial corridors, they felt the impact of the cityโs lackluster snow response. Letโs make sure weโre showing up for them! ๐

Providence deserves a snow response system that is proactive, transparent, and accountable to our neighbors.
Hereโs our plan to improve snow operations and reform the Department of Public Works!

While many small businesses and residents have done their part to clear their sidewalks, there are large businesses ignoring the law.
When Iโm Mayor, weโre going to hold these large businesses accountable!
Itโs a shame our current Mayor has been too busy at an out-of-state conference to care.
Neighbors, if youโre feeling frustrated with how the city has been handling the snow storm, youโre not alone.
Your frustration is valid and you deserve better, Providence.
Since Thursday, several tenants at Sutterfield Apartments have been without water. Despite reaching out to management with their concerns, especially during this storm, little action has been taken.
Email their Property Manager demanding they urgently take action: Bcalore@trycrest.com
Providence Mayor Smiley in 2022: โWhy is it that every time it snows, itโs as if itโs the first time weโve ever plowed?โโฆ โIt shouldnโt take days to do snow removal, and proper snow removal includes not just cleaning the streets, but sidewalks and bike lanes.โ

I'm honored to have the support of Congressman Jamaal Bowman. He is a fighter for working families and a national leader who always uses his platform to challenge corporate power and the fascism of ICE.
Weโre building a movement here in Providence!

ICE is a rogue agency that must be abolished. This state violence cannot continue.
Iโm sending my love and solidarity to our neighbors in Minnesota and every community terrorized by ICE.

23.01.2026 13:50 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The image is a political endorsement poster featuring two photographs and bold text. At the top, there is a navy blue band with the words "CITY COUNCILOR JUSTIN ROIAS" in large, white capital letters. Below, two Polaroid-style photographs are slightly tilted against a textured, dotted background. The left photograph shows Justin Roias, wearing a white t-shirt, leaning on his elbows against a light blue wall. The right photograph depicts David Morales, wearing a blue suit with a dotted shirt and a black tie, looking upwards and smiling. Beneath the photos, the word "ENDORSES" is prominently displayed in bold, orange capital letters. Below that, in smaller light blue and white letters, the text reads "ยกDAVID MORALES! FOR PVD MAYOR" against the navy blue background.
The image is a promotional graphic with a textured beige background and a large dark blue rectangle occupying most of the space in the middle. The left and right edges have a dotted pattern resembling a halftone effect in black and white. At the top, white text reads "City Councilor" in uppercase letters, above larger, bold text "JUSTIN ROIAS" also in white. Below, there is a longer quotation in white text about city direction and support for David Morales as mayor. At the bottom, the name "David Morales!" is displayed prominently in large, bold, light blue letters, followed by "FOR PVD MAYOR" in white. Quote from Roias is โOur city needs a new direction, and we need it now. For years, we've been told Providence should be a 'world-class city,' but that slogan has become code for a city that benefits developers and outsiders โ not for the people who have lived here, worked here, and raised families here for generations. Under that approach, longtime residents are being pushed out while City Hall looks the other way. David Morales rejects those politics entirely. He is not bought and he is not beholden to corporate interests. That means he will fight for working people, tenants, and neighborhoods โ not the powerful few. Thatโs why Iโm proud to endorse David Morales for mayor.โ
The image is a campaign poster comprising two main sections: a header and a central part with photographs. The header has a dark blue background with bold white text that reads "CITY COUNCILOR MIGUEL SANCHEZ." Below, the central section presents two Polaroid-style photographs tilted inwards. The left image shows Miguel Sanchez, wearing a brown blazer over a dark shirt. The right photograph features David Morales, wearing a blue suit and a patterned shirt with a dark tie. The background of both photos is light blue with subtle patterns. Below the photos is a bold headline in orange and blue text against a dark blue background, announcing the endorsement. The bottom of the poster is textured with a subtle paper-like design.
The image is a campaign poster with a textured, beige background and pixelated black patterns on the sides resembling cityscape silhouettes. The central portion features a large dark blue rectangle with white text. At the top, in bold capital letters, it reads "CITY COUNCILOR MIGUEL SANCHEZ." Below, a quote attributed to Sanchez describes his support and endorsement for David, focusing on community efforts, tackling housing issues, and leadership qualities. The bottom displays the text "ยกDAVID MORALES! FOR PVD MAYOR" in bold, light blue and white capital letters. Quote from Miguel Sanchez is โIโve watched David consistently show up for our Providence neighbors, in moments of crisis and in moments of courage. From supporting emergency shelter efforts for our unhoused neighbors to confronting suspected ICE agents threatening our immigrant community, he leads with action. Iโm proud to support him for Mayor of Providence. As my city council colleagues and I prepare to tackle Providenceโs housing emergency by passing rent stabilization, we need a trusted partner in the Mayorโs office. During my time in office, David has been an outstanding partner and I know he will continue to deliver real results for Providenceโs working families at City Hall.โ
I am excited to announce that Providence City Councilors Justin Roias and Miguel Sanchez have endorsed our campaign! Our city is stronger because of their leadership, and Iโm ready to govern alongside them as Mayor. Together we are going to build a Providence for All.
