Pierre Poilievre is talking about how Canada will have a Sovereignty Act if he is PM someday (a thing that is mercifully less likely by the day). Why would the federal govt need legislation declaring Canada sovereign when we are literally already a sovereign nation.

For a while today, his pipeline rhetoric was the top story on CBC online. Top Story! A private citizen speaks and CBC makes it headline news! He is a candidate in a forced by-election. If he gets air time/column inches, the other candidates should as well.

If we can't get out of the commitment for the 16, make it very clear that we pay the agreed upon price without inflationary or whimsical increases in costs due to delays beyond our control. Then scrap the rest and take our business to a respectful, trustworthy partner.
