so on the walk back to the lab - as they affectionately bump shoulders - thry both silently agree to wait. binary stars collide eventually.

they chalk it up to hextech for now. definitely not anything else more major than love. they're just starting to know eachother- and yet all the signs are pointing to a cosmic kinda thing.

jayce felt more stable than hes felt in months. something about the warm bubble he'd shared with viktor. despite laying there for hours, he was free of any aches, and the conversation hadn't worn on his vocal chords. and viktor looked satisfied and happy- content like a sunning cat.

when viktor stood - watching jayce carefully make his way off the ledge and back into the solid rooftop - he found he didn't ache any more rham usual. the cold didn't flood in.

and most of all, he was comfortable. it was strange, being comfortable here with jayce on a hard rooftop. yet for once, viktor wasn't aching. he was warm and comfortable with jayce, here, in this moment. it was glorious. they stayed until sunrise.

bright beautiful stars. still, the brightest and most beautiful thing viktor could see was jayce. the light in his eyes as he explained and told viktor stories of traveling for hours - far past midnight.despite the hard cement and the cold air - he was warm. jayces jacket draped over his shoulders.

viktor listens to the names of constellations for hours. you camt see the sky in the fissures, and he'd never take the time before now to really notice the sky unless the weather was sour. so now, sitting under stars, he'd never cared to notice an awe-inspiring view of the city from this high,

and when the skays are clear? they're Clear. you can see stars upon stars. constellations, shooting stars, aroura borealis if you're far enough north. in piltover, you can see few. he points out all the names of all the constellations you can see under the light polluted sky, even this high up

when jayce gestures him over, viktor stays a bit back, but he leans his back against the ledge, leaning his temple against jayces and looking up where he tells him to.
jayce tells him that one of the worst oatts about moving to piltover was the lack of stars. He lived in ixtal and freljord-

It's like the sun that makes up jayces soul has gone out. until jayces eyes glide over to him and his eyes gain a spark. a small smile makes its way onto his face. like sunrise making its way over the horizon. slowly but surely. He's still on the edge, but he's leaning backward, twords viktor.

viktor notices the way the room practically glows when jayce steps into it. the way it grows warmer when he smiles. a month into working together, he finds jayce on the roof. just.. sitting there. not leaning forward, but his legs are over the edge, and his eyes are dim.

It's like he and viktor are magnets, or better yet, binary stars. drawn to each other from across the room; so entangled in eachothers orbit that they dont notice the orbit that they've created around eachother- the planets they've drawn in.

his migrane is gone, and his chest is filled with a word he doesn't hesitate to describe as love. and hed chalk up the warmi g lab,the tingling in his spine and head, and the fluttering in his chest up to love; if it werent for yhe fact that it seems things around them too.

sometimes jayce has to leave. meetings, galas, all things he doesn't want to do. time better spent with viktor in the lab. it leaves him with a heavy heart and the start of a migrane. but when he comes back? the world brightens back up.

sometimes in the lab, viktor will look oflver at jayce and see that the window is shining all of the golden hour sun directly at jayce. he looks golden; like an angel. and jayce will look up and smile, and it feels like the cold lab grows a bit warmer.

dinner at ximenas has them leaving with 2 of her inside plants perking up brighter than they have in years, and her bush of roses next to the porch has bloomed in the middle of october. the windchimes are clinking despite the lack of breeze.

jayvik cosmic soulmate au time. weird random shit keeps happening around jayce amd viktor. things float, sometimes sparks fly from random electrical equipment, wind blows, sometimes light shines wxtra bright. they'd sum it up to hextech, but it happens when they're out of the lab, too.
