Magizh is here. ✨

iOS vs. macOS UserDefaults Tip:

iOS Simulator: Deleting the app also deletes its UserDefaults.

macOS (e.g., Status Bar Apps): To delete UserDefaults, run this in Terminal: defaults delete your.app.bundle.id

As a developer in 2024, the hardest decision isn’t what to build but which AI tool to use!

AlexSidebar, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Cursor… the options are endless!

I really love this design, so neat and cool

On the bright side, using AlexSidebar and referring to the Observation documentation, it correctly suggested the @Observable macro! This kind of contextual awareness is πŸ”₯

Adding to thisβ€”GitHub Copilot in Xcode also hasn’t caught up! It still suggests @ObservedObject instead of the new @Observable macro

Xcode Predictive Completion is cool, but it’s still lagging behind! It suggests @ObservedObject instead of the new @Observable macro.

That said, I ran into a few issues:
β€’ Scrolling slows down as the conversation gets longer. So I close and reopen again and start a new conversation.
β€’ The AlexSidebar window sometimes disappears when applying changes.
β€’ Even after creating a new file, it would still show and update the old one.

It looks promising so far. Here’s what I liked:
β€’ Applying changes is straightforward, and only the relevant updates are made.
β€’ The error-fixing display is quite helpful.
β€’ It can generate code for the latest APIs by referencing Apple documentation.
