Been doing a weight check on my mounts and it’s held up the base structure so far.

Now I added the skin from Mina 1.0 to see how this extra weight holds.

So making Mina isn’t all artsy fartsy making a dinosaur. I have to design custom things for processing too.

So… I designed a rig that will hold her mold so I can spin it freely as I pour her silicone skin cast.

I’m at the do stuff and wait part with Mina. You’ll never guess what I’m working on next.

Cleaned up her teeth. Now I’m gonna see if I can attach her snout and jaw and inside skins.

There’s always an “ugly” phase in art where you’re not sure if it’s gonna come together.

I think I’m on Mina’s 4th ugly phase.

We’re in the downhill stretch if I’m painting.

Fun fact: I’ve never done this before either.

This is called psycho paint because you have to be a psycho to paint with it.

It’s silicone paint and it has to be tinted with pigment separately and applied in a zillion layers.

Did my first wall mounting test to see if she holds. She does!! Her jaw is printing and that’ll take a couple more days and I have to wait on material for other things. But she’s finally coming along.

I know it’s been crazy. And to be fair I’ve only decided to make her an animatronic in the last couple weeks.

Thank you! 💜 It’s what I’m shooting for. Hopefully in a week I’ll have her ready to be moving and talking. Once all that is sorted then I can work on her skin. Then with the magic of paint and glue she’ll really look alive!

Every day I’m grinding away and never really feels like I’m making progress.

But her upper teeth are in. This is the old skin just got a fit test. I’m working on the inside of her mouth and throat and tongue as well as getting her brain sorted.

She better be perfect when I’m done!!

I was fiddling with her eye movement behavior and as a goof I thought I’d also see how her eyelid blinking affects her skin and I found out that her eyelid mucks up her eye sculpt. So she may not blink but that eye looking around is gonna look real and ferocious.

Dang that is pretty!

This jumbled mess is her brain. I kept adding more and more and more. Soon she’s going to have behaviors and mannerisms and react to things. And this isn’t even ALL her neat little mechanisms plugged in.

I had a freaking breakthrough! I didn’t know how loud I could make her. I thought she’d sound weak and fake.

Hell no.

Turn the sound up and keep in mind she’s gonna have two speakers. This is just one with the volume BARELY turned up.

I got it right.

Working on eyes. This is mid process. I think I’m getting it right finally.

MTG seems to be saying all the right things lately. I can't decide if she's sincere & turning over a new leaf or if she's trying to tone down her rhetoric for a future gubernatorial run. Only time will tell.

I’m getting better at making eyes. I got a dope one I just made. But here’s the progress so far from my first lousy attempt to one of my recent ones.

So I’ve been learning odontology. I think I’ve found the perfect combination to crate teeth that can scatter light as if it’s showing the separation of enamel and dentin.

If they were solid, Mina wouldn’t look real and she’s gotta look real!
