i don't actually have many pics of the quilting itself so ! here it is !!!! all done !!!!! it's hard to see the quilting in the pics so there are vids show it a bit better! warning that i am Medically Shaky so u know. but !!!!!!! qupdate is that it's Done !!! (vids below ?)

i started w the lightest colors bc they were most central and then worked my way out! and sure enough, i did not finish in time so i did in fact take it w me and spent most of the 11 hr drive to my grandparent's house quilting in the car lolol

i planned it out vaguely w a procreate sketch (first tweet) so i had an idea of which threads would go where, and i got to work! i used 3 strands of thread and waxed them so they were a bit sturdier as i quilted

naturally i wanted to keep the gradient w the quilting so i picked some embroidery threads to match the fabrics! the color matches are not Quite perfect for the darkest colors, but i was just using what i had on hand and didnt want to go buy anything

once the binding was done, it was quilting time! like the binding, i was quilting by hand bc the 3d-ness of the quilt was too good to accidentally stitch down by machine And i wasnt sure i'd finish before we went to visit so i wanted smth i could do away from home jic!

suffered another casualty bc apparently my brute strength knows no bounds and i can just snap steel in half w my bare hands, nbd

bc this quilt top is so bulky and textured, i was worried about machine sewing the binding, so once it was on the front, i hand sewed it to the back! a lot of people do their binding like this but i never had before !

next step: binding! i picked this fabric bc i thought it was light enough to blend w the creams in the middle, it has light & dark pink to match the pink end, and the green leaves are dark enough to look okay against the green side

it's been a lot of fun to do and is possibly easier than you'd expect! highly recommend it !!

this top is Super heavy and im hand quilting it which i've never done before and had no idea how long it would take, so i used basting spray, basting pins, And sewed along the edges before trimming the excess. but then she was all ready for binding and quilting!
