Could be, but think it was more that Schenn was out for half a period. They hit a rough patch again when Schenn returned.

D makes total sense based on eye test. Nyquist is a shock to me as he appears to have all Ehlers‘ dumb plays minus the speed or offensive output. Maybe it’s because he almost creates offense so often but ends up blowing it up most times?

Big Stan has been a drag on this team for a few seasons, but his game this year is much less chaotic. It almost seems like he and Fleury have flipped. Or maybe it’s just the Schenn effect. Pionk has also been less chaotic without Samberg this year.

Exactly, but Nyquist is a wasted roster spot for what he brings (not much). And Koepke has been a disappointment other than PK. He watched the winning goal while coasting.

Self inflicted is also putting Schenn and Stanley together. And I thought Stanley was decent again, but Schenn handles the puck like a hand grenade and is too slow against a fast team like Utah.

Tonight was an example that although 64 is not a top 4D, Fleury/Pionk is still worse than 64/4. Only hope is Salo joins the Jets or a trade happens.

The lack of quickness is coach inflicted. Barron created two penalties in his few minutes through hustle and still playing fewer minutes than Nyquist and Pearson who both look like pylons. If not for Flames 27 being a penalty machine, might not have been a good outcome.

Uninspired is being kind. I counted at least five times he single handedly killed plays or gave the puck away. Sit, waive or trade him I would say.
