Haha, feel like I should have clarified that... definitely not what I was dreaming of as a 5 year old. And definitely more a work goal than life goal...

Did this on some of the census mapping too, but exactly for the reasons you highlighted (not wanting to focus on individual properties). It's from OS Zoomstack...I think district buildings, then allowed overzoom once you get to a point where it would ordinarily switch to buildings.

And good to see you, virtually! Working in London now...we should catch up at some point.

Also sort of inadvertently included a lot of schools too...came with OS Zoomstack. Think they are also quite helpful as local landmarks many would know. Also seemingly quite a strong educational user base...so useful for seeing catchment areas.

Yep. We did some user testing along the way, and people were struggling to pinpoint where they were within an area - and what was/wasn't included in their selected area. Road names helped.

Won't lie - it has been a bit of a lifelong dream to work on the release of Indice of Deprivations interactive offer...

Love it. I think this could replace the capcha "select images with bicycles in them" method.

Image of the population projection tool that allows a user to change different inputs, to see how it effects population and age structures. It highlights the part of the tool that shows the proportion of people over 65 that may require support in their retirement.

This looks like a really useful tool to help inform conversations around how we might support an ageing population.

Changing different assumptions (eg migration levels) can affect the proportion of those in retirement who have dependency on the working population.

Can anyone help me track down an old d3 example of a choropleth map that let you switch between different ranges/breaks? I think it was of US unemployment rates at a county level.

I wanted to use it as an example of how different breaks can change how patterns might be viewed. Can't find it!

I miss "old" twitter...so giving this a go.
