Scene from the past (2001). The #RoyalNewZealandAirForce Hueys have been retired and the Hobsonville base closed down, however No.3 Squadron is still operational, now operating A109 and NH90 #helicopters from #RNZAF Ohakea.

A four-ship of Pacific Aerospace CT/4E Airtrainers pictured in February 2001. The 'Red Chechers' demo team consisted of pilot instructors of the Central Flying School based at RNZAF Ohakea.
In 2001 I flew with the #RedCheckers demo team of the #RoyalNewZealandAirForce. The team disbanded in 2015 following the retirement of the CT/4E Airtrainer.

The helicopter was operated by 723 Naval Air Squadron, the dedicated training squadron of the Royal Australian Navy. This helicopter is now part of the collection of the Fleet Air Arm Museum, also located at Nowra.

This aircraft was the first JaBoG 34 Starfighter resprayed in Norm 83 camouflage. JaBoG 34 was Luftwaffe's last operational Starfighter unit; it retired the F-104 in 1987 and was re-equipped with the Panavia PA 200 Tornado IDS. The unit disbanded on 30 June 2003.
An oldie this time. A Luftwaffe F-104G approaches Memmingen on 8 August 1984. 23+01 was the first '104' of JaBoG 34 in Norm 83 camouflage.

A four-ship of Swiss F-5E/F Tiger IIs over eastern Switzerland back in 2003, shot from the backseat of an F-5F. All aircraft were piloted by crew of Ausbildungs- und Dienststaffel 16, flying out of DΓΌbendorf near Zurich.
Since we're having some snow here in the Netherlands, I was browsing through some wintery images. Here's a 4-ship of Swiss Tiger IIs over the Alps in 2003. Only a handful of grey ones are currently still in service.

On 1 July 2006, I landed this Boeing 737-306 at Stavanger's runway 29 (following a hilarious go-around, but that's another story :-). The photo is made by Trine Ur, our then bus driver for the layover and famous local spotter.
She passed away last summer. Blue skies, Trine.

It is specially marked for the NATO Tiger Meet '25 that was held at Beja, Portugal in September 2025. MFG 5 is based at Nordholz. Recently, the first pair of NH90-MRFH helicopters arrived here. 31 of these were obtained to replace the Super Lynx. The last one is expected to retire in 2027.

In 2022 it received this special foiling to celebrate the factory's 60 years of existence at this location (obviously not always called Airbus as previously it was known as e.g. DASA, EADS and Cassidian) On this image, 98+07 takes off for trials with the Meteor BVRAAM missile.
