Old Fox in the fields
Old Fox had been up since before dawn. He'd gone to the fields around the cottage, the wheat golden & heavy and dry, ready for harvest. He called to the land. He cut the first sheaf. Later he'd make his Lammas bread & take it to St Thomas's church, to the Lady Chapel, as all had done before him.
