It’s empty; he’s dozing in her bed.

“You wouldn’t rather be at home?Only a minute away; it’d be quieter.”

There’s a grumbled response from behind her.

“Waited too long to get into your bed, not leaving it now.”

She can hear him humming as he nears—“first of May, first of May; outdoor fucking starts today,”— and hushes her giggles, keeps hidden behind a bush.

“It’s May 3rd,” she calls out—runs on nimble feet to a new hiding spot.

“Of course, Angel.” A hungry laugh. “World Naked Gardening Day.”

Rupert may have got some things wrong about Taggie at Valerie's dinner party, but one thing is sure.
That girl likes to watch. A sweet, shy voyeur.
And if he's promised Declan to keep away, if he can't (yet) have Taggie, then the least he can do is give her some damn good shows.
She deserves a treat

"Hush, angel," Rupert covers her mouth with one hand before her moans become too loud, "we don't want Declan to hear, do we?"
He's got a good point. The last thing the two of them need is daddy rushing in and finding them both half-naked. He'd probably do worse than just punching Rupert in the face.
