I never thought I’d say this, but I’m proud of Harvard. They’re the first University to stand up for what’s right, and history is going to remember them for it.

FBI raids home of prominent computer scientist who has gone incommunicado Indiana University quietly removes profile of tenured professor and refuses to say why.

Both his and his wife’s profiles, email accounts, and all associated phone numbers were erased by the university. When questioned, the university refused to say why, even though Wang taught there for two decades. No one has heard from the Wangs in weeks.

To note in the academic abductions: Every arrest or attempted arrest so far has been done off-campus. Degree being pursued and country of origin show no patterns yet.

I also very much want to underline that I would not recommend this for any non-US citizen. You can just be refused entry and/or detained. I ask the above to lend real world advice to those I support.

I'm seeing lots of people recommending to disable biometrics on e-devices when entering the US, but I have seen little to no one describing an encounter in this situation.
Anyone willing to share? What did you do when they asked you to unlock it? Did they confiscate the device if you refused?
