To advertise the Neo Shifters toyline, there was an MMO game that lasted for a couple of years called Neo Shifters Web Battler. There was also a subline called The Web Battlers that could connect to the internet and the game. Only two Web Battlers toys were made.

Neo Shifters lasted from 2005 to 2008 and released a plethora of toys in different factions. Mega Bloks would later replace it with Neo Machines, the big difference between the two lines being Neo Machines transformed into other things outside of balls, like vehicles for example.

the Neo Shifters, although unlike Bionicles (well, most Bionicles at least), the Neo Shifters had the ability to change modes. (Although I'm not really sure how impressive the ability to turn into a ball really is).

Mega Bloks is a building block brand like Lego and has tried to make transforming figures before with Blok Bots in 2000. In 2005 after Bionicle's massive success years earlier Mega Bloks tried to copy their success with their own kind of builable figures and those were... 1/2

Marbles toy design, not to be mean, has one of my least favorite head designs on any transforming robot ever, it looks like he has an exposed brain. It is no surprise why the film changed it to be a helmet despite their being no prototype that remotely looks that way.

A new Machine Robo Unitroborn figure has been revealed and this one is Charapaki Rally Car, consisting of a rally car and a Charapaki chocolate bar, a type of chocolate bar in Japan that splits apart and the toy even replicating that. The two combine into a robot mode.

Transformers had a nearly identical body type, and the show treated their existence different from the rest of the cast. In Gobots, the female Gobots are treated no differently from the male ones and are allowed to have the same variety in body types as male Gobots.

Something Gobots did better than Transformers is how it treated female members of the factions, and I don't just mean in terms of Gobots having female character's toys from the launch but also how they approached them design wise. While in G1 Transformers, all the female... 1/2

The most common type of Gobots figures are designs of the G1 Gobots for the most obvious reason that they can reuse molds they've already created. However, instead of doing that, Dr. Wu didn't make Path Finder in her G1 Gobots colors but in her original colors on a Cosmos mold.

I talk a LOT of shit about the IDW Gobots comic because I don't like it, but here's some praise I'll give it:
1. I really like some of the references like the Tonka building.
2. I like bringing back some of the characterization details from the Tonka catalog.

The cover of issue 2 of the Gobots Magazine features a design of Scooter which merges both his cartoon and toy design, I am quite fond of it.

Buggyman had two voice actors in the Gobots show, they were Peter Cullen who voiced the character for the pilot miniseries and Bob Ridgely for the rest of the series.

It is slightly weird Cullen didn't voice him for the whole show because he was often in it after the miniseries.

Conquer with both opening with the bad guys attacking a factory that makes weapons used against them.

The episode is also inspired by Frankenstein which is even referenced. This served as an inspiration for a G1 episode he wrote, Autobot Spike.

I've already talked about how writer Don Glut is kind of infamous for reusing plot elements and taking obvious influence from other stories. Another example of that is in the episode Sentinel where the opening is 1 to 1 with the Transformers episode he wrote Divide and... 1/2

The Gobots storybook Escape to Planet Earth, which was the first piece of Gobots media had it so Cy-Kill invented transforming into alternate forms and he had to show the other Renegades how to do it. This wasn't carried over to any other piece of Gobots media

Unfortunately Screechers Wild suffered the same fate as Mecard after Spin-Master sued Alpha Group for patent infringement for the auto transforming gimmick they had with Bakugan (which makes even less sense) and after that they were banned from importing into the U.S.

Screechers Wild
YouTube video by Sideshow Productions, USA Screechers Wild

The main gimmick of Screechers Wild / Opti-Morphs was that they had autotransforming gimmicks sort of like Turning Mecard, but where if they rolled into a disk they would do a backflip and transform in mid air.

Also, this ad features the T-Rex roar from Jurassic Park.

Screechers Wild was a Chinese cartoon based on the Opti-Morphs toyline made by Alpha Group. The show first aired under the Opti-Morphs name in China in 2016 before being named Screechers wild when it was imported to the U.S. in 2018, with the episodes released on YouTube.

While the Gobots Command Center was ready for release and included in Gobots Escape to Planet Earth (the first piece of Gobots media ever), the Renegade's equivalent Thruster wasn't ready yet and wasn't included in the story, instead the Renegadea use a classic flying saucer.

The Collect the GoBots World of Adventure poster shows a whopping total of 117 Gobots toys, including 2 unreleased toys and 2 toys in color schemes that never released. However, it misses 2 Gobots toys that actually released which are Spy-Eye and Twister for some reason.
