Something that shows how little care was put into keeping continuity within the Gobots show is that outside of the two parters both being called two different names, the main gadget of the two parter, the amplifier had two completely different designs in the two episodes.

While it wasn't a common issue, in some of Geeper-Creeper's appearances he was given a visor instead of eyes which was consistent with his toy design. The show also gave him a mouth that the toy doesn't have but that consistently appeared.

Issue 3 of IDW Gobots has astronauts who were cryogenically frozen wake up on a new weird planet that they think is alien and ends with the reveal that this planet was once Earth is very very similar to the original ending of Planet of the Apes.

The intended play feature of the Gobots Signal Gun's flashlight and the different colored lenses was that kids could send coded messages with them, although I feel like that's very unintuitive and probably more fun to use without the lenses and blinding your friends with the light.

tells the story of Zero and the Master Renegade working together to go up against Cy-Kill who they both share beef with.

When Renegade Rhetoric started it had the episodes be short enough to be described in 2 or 3 sentences that all changed with the episode Trash and Treachery where from then on episodes had summaries long enough to go into the plot in a three act structure.

The 2nd volume of Seiryu Densetsu contains the prequel to the Leina OVA, and features a character named Shuntaro Shinoda, a screenwriter who lets Reina stay overnight at his house. This character was based on the screenwriter Hideki Sonoda himself.

The episode Go-Girl from Renegade Rhetoric had A.J. Foster become a superhero with the same name. She gains her powers in the episode by bringing someone to safety but was in the path of the radioactive explosion l which mirrors the classic origins of the Hulk.

Jim Sorenson played in High School who was a mage, confirmed by him on Twitter.

For context the competition was held by a theater enthusiast who was going to give way a magical stone previously owned by an ancient Roman alchemist named Arcanus Maximus (although the character was a fraud).

The name and original color scheme of Bad Boy was (apparently) the inspiration behind Powerflash's Decepticon diaguise in the Wings Universe.

According to Ben Yee, Lanny Lathem who was at the time the Director of Creative Services at Fun Publications intended for Bug Bite's Botcon figures' purple paint to represent an abstract version of the Decepticon logo. Not sure if I see it but that was the intended effect.

1. Bad Boy: The only one I prefer to the original toy, the G1 Gobots design makes it far more visually interesting imo and adds a lot of much-needed color separation and also a face.

3. Small Foot: One of the more accurate ones, if only because she is still mostly red.

2. Treds: One of the more accurate ones, if only cause he's mostly green and I like that they kept the reference to the original toy having the wrong faction logo.

5. Pathfinder: Looks nothing like the original toy and also kind of a lame design even as its own thing imo.

4. Road Ranger: Looks nothing like the original toy but unlike Pathfinder it works better imo because it looks interesting as its own thing although still not my fav.

I realized I've never put my opinions on all of the G1 Gobots designs as a whole in a singular thread so here it is in order of least to favorite:

6. Bug Bite: only one I actively dislike since I think it takes away everything that made the original toy interesting.

Likely because it is far easier to market a space shuttle than it is a small truck.

For whatever reason while more important characters like Small Foot didn't get the same love as characters as important as her, Spay-C who was by far a more minor character got a lot more merch with 2 different regular toys, a model kit, and a walkie talkie version... 1/2

Along with being released in blind boxes, the Mugenbine Musou figures are also being sold in a box set with different color schemes although the blind box color schemes have stayed exclusive to the blind boxes but it's nice that there's a guaranteed way to get no duplicates.

Despite being under the control of Bandai Robo Machine fared worse than Gobots, only importing 46 of the 59. Missing out on 6 of the 8 Gobots missed out on (RM got Apollo Robo and Blackbird Robo) as well as missing out on Fire Robo, Drill Robo, Crane Robo, Sanitation Robo, Offroad Robo... 2/3

Of the 59 total Machine Robo 600 Series figures, 51 were brought over to Gobots, the ones that didn't make the cut were Highway Robo, Shinkansen Robo, New Shinkansen Robo, Double Decker Bus Robo, 3-Wheel Buggy Robo, Mini-Cooper Robo, Blackbird Robo, and Apollo Robo... 1/3
