I don't often hear about families watching documentaries, but maybe people just talk about Bluey more than Planet Earth? 😆 Seeing animals in real life when possible would be the best! Of course, it's difficult for many, especially those living in cities, to see animals in their natural habitats.

This workshop didn’t offer easy answers, but it reminded me of the strength in facing these emotions honestly and the healing that comes from doing so in community, where we can find love and courage for the path ahead.

As a parent of a young child, I often wonder how I'll be able to hold emotional space for them as they start asking difficult questions about the climate crisis. How do I help them become part of the solution while preparing them for the uncertainty when I am still learning to navigate my own fears?

You might wonder why I joined a climate workshop when I don’t “work in climate.” But the climate crisis touches all of us. I truly believe, as @projectdrawdown.bsky.social advocates, every job needs to be a climate job. Every one of us has a role to play.

In just 90 minutes, we moved through love, rage, grief, and hope, with creative exercises that cracked me open and stitched me back together again. (Also, I somehow wrote a poem in five minutes?)

We didn’t walk away with answers but better questions, and the courage to sit with them together.✍️
