That is the part I now disagree with. I believe graded reading is helpful, and even some of the CI designers now agree. However, I still think you should listen to an audiobook when reading because you want to hear how it’s pronounced rather than figuring out your own pronunciation.

They have French too! It takes a LONG time, and some are purists. I’m not since I’ve been around Spanish my whole life. The key is finding content at your level that interests you. If possible, find someone for crosstalk. Once comfortable, suggest audiobooks with graded readers.
