Box Bop was a great time
But it's time for.. better stuff. ;)

Heya! We've had a lot of development issues recently, and if you haven't noticed.. the Box Bop game itself is kinda basic. Which is why we are announcing Box Bop is discontinued, publicly, officially, etc etc. BUT
There are a couple things in the works across DPOF Studios.. :) 1/2

Forgot to post on Bsky, due to Epic Games Staff being on break, the Winter Restyle in Box Bop should release on either January 3rd or 4th!!

We decided to.. do something.. On January 4th, REGARDLESS of if the Box Bop Winter Restyle is out or not, we will go live for a tiny bit showing off the update!! It will be January 4th at 1PM Eastern Time and will be live on YouTube(@DPOFStudios), Twitch(@dpofstudios) and even Twitter(@BoxBopGame)!

Even if Update 2 can't come out this year.. we still have an update.. Coming in just a couple days, Box Bop is gonna look festive! Enjoy some wintery decorations in the map soon :)

With those 3 reasons, we’re sorry to say Box Bop Update 2 might be delayed to 2025.

-of our leads, Andrea, had the most recent version of the game on their computer. There is a private version the devs have access to edit but it’s outdated. Recently, Andreas drive corrupted. Meaning Box Bop corrupted. We have Box Bop still, but it’s outdated and might need to be recoded, which-

-2 core developers that made the game in the first place) had a ton of busy things in their life, leading to them not being able to work on the game. Update 2 is planned to have a roadmap feature on it that would take quite some work that we haven’t had time for.
3: WE LITERALLY LOST OUR FILES. One-

-ago for Box Bop and for The Laboratory but when we tried talking to some of the newly hired people about Update 2, we got ghosted. So the developer team has had issues leading to not a lot of progress on the update.
2: Busyness. The developers who wanted to work on Box Bop(which were.. the same-

Update 2 will come out fairly soon, but it will be the LAST update of 2024. Everything on the roadmap will still be planned for future updates, but it’ll be in 2025. One more roadmap feature will be in update 2 though.
