Ah interesting to hear, it'll be interesting to see who y'all nominate. I've heard similar about y'alls candidates from others, so it's good to get confirmation, thank you!

14.11.2025 10:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I also assume Labor and the Liberals will fill in their remaining candidates as well quite soon. All of that tells me there'll be alot to keep my eye out on over the next month and a half.
14.11.2025 02:49 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As a quick update, I believe that we'll soon have a deluge of candidates for the South Australian election. The Greens and AJP have their campaign launches next week, One Nation and Legalise Cannabis have begun looking for candidates, and the SA Socialists have their conference soon.

Thank you for reading! Happy to hear my work has been helpful aha, I'll be continuing the tracker until the election and will have additional resources (such as a guide to every party contesting the election) out once we get close to election day!
12.11.2025 12:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sarah Game's anti-abortion bill has been defeated in the Legislative Council 8-11. I've done a quick summary of it, as well as who voted for/against, on the SA politics tracker below.

That'd be good fun lmao, there's enough these days that it could be quite an interesting thread.
12.11.2025 10:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Its a shame no parties currently use the hilarious Party Name - Ideology naming convention these days. Its still better than the new convention from the right, which is just FirstName LastName Platitude.
12.11.2025 10:02 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Howe has been banned from parts of SA Parliament previously for threatening politicians, and has recently created an AI video guilt-tripping a mother talking about her abortion using AI-generated 'fetuses' to do it. This heartless stuff is her brand and at this point its insane anyone respects her.
12.11.2025 09:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As a reminder, there is an ongoing debate in SA's legislative council around a private member's bill to ban late-term abortions. In a horrific grift, Dr Joanna Howe of UofA has made a 'game' of the words that might be said by pro-choice politicians.

Party registration news: Victorian Socialists' attempt to change name to Socialist Party has been provisionally rejected as AEC delegate has ruled too similar to Socialist Alliance. Party will try Australian Socialist Party instead.

I forgot to mention this last week, I was so busy it slipped my mind, but my podcast has (finally) hit 100 episodes (101 as of today)! It's been a journey, and I am nowhere near done, but I am just very grateful for everyone who listens to the episodes every.

The original version of Taylor Swiftβs βStyleβ was about the superiority of the Chicago Manual of Style for notes and referencing, but eventually she was convinced that this was not commercial enough. When the Manual reaches its 20th edition, she may release βStyle (Chicago version)β to celebrate.

ALP - Clark takes Kingston and Kingston Beach

Greens- primary option as per Labor, also suggests committee consider Clark = Hobart City and south, Franklin takes Glenorchy.

Iβm honoured to be featured alongside some of Australiaβs biggest names in wonkdom in the summer issue of Inflection Points.
My paper is the culmination of 4 years work on declining civic participation β and why other researchers into the phenomenon have a blind spot for political parties.
Writing about Australian history and aiming for an international journal, so having to include a lot more contextual detail about everything than what one might need if discussing North American or UK/European stuff. Making my word count higher!
