Firstly Kazakhstan asked for protection from Beijing not that long ago. I am not sure they would do something like this unless they sensed a shift of winds in Beijing that basically means Moscow's threats can be ignored. Secondly Beijing is no longer allowing delivery of precision machinery to RU.

If these restrictions are on orders from Beijing & it isn't temporary, it'll go down like a bag of sick in the Kremlin.

It's possible Beijing has drawn the conclusion Trump has pivoted to more open support of Kyiv, or wanting to punish Putin. Either way, the risk of a wider war is not desirable.

There's been talk for a long time about Xi Jinping either "voluntarily" stepping down from some of his offices, or being forcibly removed. These recent moves constricting delivery of dual-use goods to Muscovy, seems to indicate that the rumours are true. There may be unrest in Beijing if Xi resists.

I see a future of: "Thousands of ruzzians in Kazakstan have been oppressed by them. We need to protect them. " - Kremlin.
