A photograph of a very stereotypical looking house. The house has four uniform windows with the frames painted white and a doorway in the centre covered by a small stone porch with a gable roof. The house is built out of sandstone and as a result has a yellowish beige colour. There are three stone chimney pots one on each end and in the middle of the roof. The guttering is painted in a bright blue, called Cavendish blue. In front of the house is a well painted grass lawn and a sandstone brick fence, the same colour as the house. There is a small entrance to the garden with three sides, the gate is on the left hand side. Each wall of the entrance has a carved ball topper on the corner. There is a tree behind the house on the left hand side of the image that is a dark green conifer. The sky is blue, paler than the guttering but still bright. There are lots of fluffy white clouds trying to obscure the blue sky beneath.

I'm back! I was a little tired of social media. I'll tell you what I'm also tired of. 5 little words. "To whom it may concern" if I never had to see that phrase again I'd be thrilled (Anyone hiring a cool gal like me). Anyway here's a pretty house in a pretty village called Edensor.

A photograph of a let rock. The rock is large and made of gritstone, its shape looks like the side profile of a face. Similar to those on Easter island. The rock is light from the right hand side with a warm white light that leaves the "nose" and "mouth" in complete shadow. A smaller domed rock behind the main rock is completely lit. The rest of the ground is pitch black with just the rugged silhouettes of a few small rocks and plants. The sky behind is an ombre of colour fading from black into blue into yellow and finally orange before hitting the darkness of the ground.

#RockinTuesday comes around quick but today's photo, though I use the word favourite very liberally, honestly might actually be up there in my top 5. The magic behind this rock with a face is a mini fill light tucked behind a rock.

The centre of the flower is a mixture of brown, black and yellow stigma, forming a circle. The background is blurred but made up if many shades of green with a couple of blurred yellow sunflower heads peeking from behind the main flower.

So apparently it's #BlueMonday today. I don't like Blue Monday, I don't like being told I ought to be sad. Also stop hating on January. Anyway, if you are by chance feeling blue today, here's a nice warm yellow sunflower to cheer you up.

A photograph of the night sky. The images is coveted in bright white, gold, yellow, purple, and pink shining stars with the highest density in the centre of the image and becoming less clear towards the edges. The centre of the sky appears more white in colour with a thick but very pale yellow/gold line running from top to bottom about three quarters of the way across the image on the right. Just above the line is a small galaxy. It looks like a white shiny star but has a glowing line cutting straight through the middle.

Finally it's #skysunday I've been getting ready to share with you my favourite sky photo. Last year I started attempting night sky photography, this is I think my best attempt so far. Can you peep the galaxy at the top.

A photograph of my pet cat socks. Socks is sat upright and looking at the camera. She has black fur with a white chest and stomach, the tips of her feet and nose are also white. She's siting on a grassy lawn surrounded by dark green leaves of a hedge and apple tree. There are two green apples in front of the cat and several brown mushy apples dot the grass.

Happy #caturday everyone. What a perfect (Some pun intended) opportunity to share with you little socks, the cat that seems to get younger every year. Hard to belive she's 14 right!

A photograph of the night sky. The sky is a very dark blue with black vignette around the edge. Something I should edit out but it makes the sky look moody. There are some wisps of colour at the top of the image that because of the editing techniques look slightly pink and brown. There are lots of small white stars across the entire image but the main focus is in the centre, a bright white spot, this is Venus, there is no details just a glowing orb. Just below and to the left of Venus is a much smaller, similar in size to the twinkling stars, pink spot which is Saturn. There are no visible rings because its too far away.

I know its not a Sunday but I took this a couple days ago so a rare for me recent image being posted. Venus! That's the funky splodge in the middle and I could be wrong but the little bright dot just below and to the left is Saturn. Spot any constellations?

A photograph of a skyscraper. The skyscraper is 45 floors tall though the image is not taken from ground level, I think around 42 levels are visible. The building runs straight up and has a completely flat roof. The sides are slightly curved. The entire building is made of glass and attached to the wall of the top floors is an illuminated HSBC logo. There is a silhouette of a cable at the top of the image and a roof beam of the building I'm standing on in the top right corner. The sky behind the building is a dark blue and grey with soft dark pink clouds.

You know I often wonder when walking through cities, who owns the skyscrapers I see above me. Not this one.

A photograph of a sunset with buildings in front. The buildings are in complete shadow, there is no detail, only black silhouettes. They sit in height order from left to right. The first building appears as just a gable roof with one chimney either side. It then extends into a long rectangle. The second building is a tall chimney that gets thinner as it goes up. The third building is the most detailed. An old mine building it rises up as a rectangle, becoming a point where the roof used to be. On the left of the building is a cylindrical chimney. Just below the former roof's point is a window that reveals there is nothing more to that part of the building than that wall. Behind the three buildings is an almost clear sky with one line of dark grey clouds sitting just above the horizon. The sun has almost set leaving a layered sky of dark blue, grey and finally gold with the sun just sitting behind the main mine building.

I was taught "shoot dark, edit light" because over exposed images are harder to fix. I'm not sure if that's completely true but I do it anyway. Here's a photo where I decided I'd stop at the first part of that advice.

A photograph if a mossy rock face. The image features a large mostly flat rock wall split into three main rock segments. The rocks are light grey in colour but are mostly covered with plants. The main plant is a thick rich (mossy) green carpet of moss that covers almost the entirety of the rock face. There are some speckles of white lichen and yellowish green lichen. At the top of the image are two clumps of brown dead ferns that hang down in long feather like strips. A couple of dark green fern leaves poke out from beneath the dead leaves.

Well note to self don't post skinless statue pictures, they don't do so well. So back to regular service and as it's #rockintuesday here's a picture that unlike last Tuesday's did feature in a portfolio of mine.

For some bonus context. It's called Saint Bartholomew Equisite Pain and its by Damian Hirst. Its made its self home in Chatsworth House's Chapel found inside the house. Originally it was just bronze but at some point they decided to pimp it in gold.

Content Warning: This is a Damian Hirst Sculpture of Saint Bartholomew, Equisite Pain, take that name as a hint of what's to come. A photograph of a graphic sculpture on display in a Chapel. The sculpture is made of bronze but covered entirely in gold leaf. It depicts a man holding out his right arm with a pair of scissors. Draped over his arm is his skin, just remember as I mentioned this is made of metal. The skin looks intact with the shape of the body visible. The man standing has clearly carved muscles, a six pack for those who care, and in his left hand is holding a scalpel. The sculpture is standing on a four legged stool that appears also to be made of bronze, though not covered in gold. Behind the sculpture is an ornate carved marble wall that is white with veins of dark brown. Carved into the marble are four cherubs wrapped in cloth, one on either side of the wall and two together in the centre. Flowers adorn the top that's shapes to form a dome. The top centre of the marble features a stardust with a bird I assume is a dove. The only light on the scene comes from a window put of shot on the left hand side of the image that makes the front of the statue appear to glow.

I've been trying to write detailed alt text on every picture I share. I find it challenging. I decided I wanted to share this sculpture I photographed and figured well if I can describe this I can describe anything, (labeled because it is just metal but it's a bit gory)

A photograph of a rotten wooden sign worn away by time. The wooden sign post has completely rotted away at the top leaving rough jagged edges to the now black wood, coloured with sage green lichens and hints of the yellowish wood under the rotted layer. In the centre of the post, screwed in by three screws is a bright green circle of plastic with a yellow arrow in its centre and yellow righting around the edge. The plastic has been roughly snapped cutting the top of the arrow and some of the writing. The writing reads along the top "Rhondda C", then the large crack, followed by just the word "service" along the bottom it reads "Gwasan... the word is cut off by a piece of ivy, it is meant to be Gwasanaeth Cefn then more ivy obstructed the rest of the words, finally ending with Rhondda Cynon Taf" Don't fret if you or your screen reader is confused, the bottom line is written in Welsh. As mentioned there is ivy draping it's self across sign with dark green leaves, veined with white and dark brown stems that look almost twig like. Behind the wooden post is a blurred out woodland, thick with all shades of green and yellow leaves. 10 dark brown, almost black tree trunks are visible within the blurred background.

If you've read my bio recently you might be confused by ny Welsh by BSc. Perhaps you figured out, I studied in Wales. South Wales specifically. The University of South Wales even more specifically. Well here's a broken footpath sign just to prove I've at least set foot in Wales.

A photograph of a very moody landscape. The photograph shows what's known locally as an "Edge", this one in particular is Curbar Edge. The photograph is taken from the side of the edge showing a steep rocky slope. The top of the slope as several pale grey rock clusters protruding out from it with the surface of the slope becoming more vegetated as it goes down. The vegetation is all shades of brown, orange and yellow. It's texture is rough and spiky being mostly Heather, long grass and some gorse. The sky is dark grey and completely covered in clouds. In the furthest left centre of the image a small section of a dark green, grassy hill with a line of brown trees can be seen.

I figured I should probably get back to my happy place, don't want you thinking I'm more exciting than I really am. Back to pretty English landscapes. This is a photograph I like so much I printed it out and hung it on my wall.

A photograph of a zebra in a very vegetated area. The zebra is standing looking directly at the camera with its ears pointing straight up. It'd tail is caught mid swish with the black fluffy hairs on the end blurred with the motion. Around the zebra is a whole range of bright green vegetation, long grass around its feet, reaching the zebras ankles, rough looking shrubbery behind and low trees with orangey brown thin trunks, some branching into two or three smaller trunk like branches. The tops of the trees are just cut out of the image and no sky us visible.

Yesterday I told you I studied wildlife photography and then showed you a picture of domesticated animals. What a wrong un. Well instead of going to bed at a reasonable hour I'm righting my wrong. Here's a picture I took whilst actually studying, in the wild, in South Africa

A photograph of a herd of deer in the snow. The foreground of the image contains 4 trees, so tall they don't fit in the frame, they are a very dark brown and completely bare of leaves. The main focus of the image though is a herd of 17 Fallow deer gathered together with another deer just off to their right. They all appear to be adult and juvenile males as they all have either a full set of antlers or mini antlers. The deer have pale brown backs with little white spots, white stomachs and beige coloured legs. The whole landscape is covered in bright white snow thats just beginning melt, revealing muddy brown ground beneath. The background is mostly blurred but it is of a steep hill layered with cedar trees that appear a very dark almost black shade of green, these are also covered in snow.

Time for another fun fact about me. Technically I was trained in wildlife photography. Instead I ignored all that and just took landscape photos. But anyway here's a photo I took four days ago of some Fallow deer. Because who doesn't love Bambi.

A photograph of the English Channel and the sky. The sea is a very sad grey, green colour and sits seemingly completely still with no waves breaking and nothing floating on the surface. The sky is also grey though a much paler shade with some some spots of white where the sun is trying to break through. The centre of the image has wisps of cloud different to the solid grey clouds around, breaking through the wisps is the light blue sky that hides beneath.

A photograph of a shingle beach and the sky. The beach is a golden sandy colour though not made of sand. The beach is made of thousands of small pebbles with the golden sandy colour broken up with whites, greys, and browns of all shades. The beach seems to go on forever only stopping where it means the sky. There is no sea in the photograph, mostly because I took it facing away from the sea. The sky fades from a dark blue into almost grey when viewing from right to left. Thin wisps of light grey clouds streak the sky with spots of fluffy white clouds in front of them.

Perhaps two of my most desolate looking photographs taken back to back. The English Channel and Rye Harbour Beach.

A photograph of a large rock in an empty field with the sun reflected on it from the right of the image. The rock takes up most of the image and from this angle looks like its made of four flat rocks stacked on top of eachother, almost like a really fat totem pole. It's rough and worn with a big chunk out of the top right and cracks and dints covering the entire rock. It's a sandy beige colour as it's made from Gritstone, a type of sandstone. The rest of the image is dull green grass, very short, with exposed muddy patches where people have walked. In the bottom left is a tall patch of yellow, dry grass. The sky is a pale blue fading into an even paler, almost grey blue. Dotted within are fluffy white clouds.

Fun fact about me, I love photographing rocks. I know nothing about them but they look cool. So low and behold I log on and see #rockintuesday what a great trend. So anyway, at uni I made two photo portfolios on rocks. This picture isn't in either of them, but it looks cool.

A photograph of a hilly landscape. In the foreground yellowish green grass, speckled with brown. Dark green deciduous trees, I think sycamore and oak, are dotted across the foreground and a straight road cuts between them. Barely noticeable but still there are three small groups of sheep. To the centre of the photograph are rich rolling hills in all shades of green, in the furthest right neatly plowed fields of golden wheat. Dark green conifer trees dot these hills with two large rectangles of trees in the centre. One with brown coured trees in the middle creating an E and the other an R, these were for one of the queen's jubilees. The sky is an ominous grey, dark clouds surrounding white clouds.

I was once told that I take photographs that look like Windows backgrounds, they said it was a compliment, I guess I'll believe them. This generic computer background is actually the parkland around yesterday's stately home.

UK here, I remember my GCSE (aged 16) texts were Macbeth, An Inspector Calls (which I found incredibly dull), Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and a poetry anthology called Power and Conflict (Ozymandias and Kamikaze I enjoyed).

This image differs from the other as now visible is golden lettering on the top, centre of the building that reads "Cavendo. TVTVS."

A photograph of a natural landscape, the foreground is made up of a field of Heather, pale purple and rust coloured. A large limestone rock in the bottom right corner. Behind the Heather are moorlands in a yellowed brown colour. The moorland ends in a dark green slope leading to more hills in lots of shades of green and brown, fading into the distance. The sky is a very pale blue with classic fluffy white clouds, giving an almost 3d affect.

Following on from yesterday's post, here's another photo, exactly the same location (Upper Burbage, Peak District)
But from the opposite direction. This trig point is definitely a 360 vantage point.
