For the final plenary and last talk of the symposium, we are happy to welcome Prof. Simon Aldridge (@GroupAldridge) from @ox.ac.uk . He will be talking about their group’s pioneering contribution in group 13 and group 14 elements chemistry for unleashing new reactivity patterns.

We are back from a productive and delicious lunch session 😊. Now we have Dr. @b-kajetan.bsky.social showing his work from the lab of @msollogoub.bsky.social and @lcmce.bsky.social . He will be talking about Lewis superacidic boranylium cation confined in the cavity of cyclodextrins. let’s tune in!

Now we have Junior Prof. Robin Weiss from Université Caen Normandie, France. He will be showing their work on the main group catalysis enabled by chalcogen bonding. Interesting chemistry coming up !

We are back after the coffee break. Now we have a pleanary lecture from Prof. Jennifer Garden from @edinburghuni.bsky.social will be telling us about harnessing heterometallic synergy in catalytic pathways towards sustainable polymers. The floor is yours Jennifer !

For the final talk of the session, we have Dr. @pierrebeaujean.bsky.social from LCT-UNamur, who will demonstrate how quantum chemistry can be used to improve electrolyte materials and develop new batteries, a significant step towards a climate-neutral society.

Yesterday at @mgerc-unamur.bsky.social was very nice, with a lot of insightful discussions ! Today is the last day, but I come back home (well... 25 meter apart) with a few ideas for the future ;)

Now we have Lars van der Zee from the @chrisslootweg.bsky.social group delivering his oral communication about the kinetics of encounter complex formation in Frustrated Lewis Pairs.

For the first plenary talk of the day, we have @bismutolab.bsky.social from the University of Bonn. He will be showing us what happens when we shine light on dipnictenes. Fascinating right, enjoy!

Sadly had to miss this conference, but Dominic will present his poster once more @mgerc-unamur.bsky.social. Come and see him at Poster 31 to learn about our recent Al/Cd chemistry!

The poster session at #MGERC is packed up. Everyone seems quite busy discussing cool chemistry with others. Our judges are also busy picking up the best poster prizes for tomorrow. Be attentive and Belgian chocolate might be yours !

We are ending day 2 on a high note. For the last plenary lecture of the day, we have Prof. Jean-François Paquin from Université Laval, Québec, Canada. He will be discussing pentafluorosulfanylation using sulfuryl chloride pentafluoride. The floor is yours !

Next up, we welcome Dr. Peter Coburger from @tum.de . He will be talking about stabilization of unusual main-group cations using a cyclic biradicaloid. Sounds very interesting, let’s dive in !

The Afternoon Session of day 2 just started. We have Dr. Ghenwa Bouhadir from @lbpblab.bsky.social has taken the stage. She will be talking about the optical properties of Phosphine boranes, or rather shining the focus on them. Let’s dive in.

For the last oral communication before the coffee break, Prof. Sadowski from the University of Warszawski has taken the stage. He will be talking about Visible light-driven functionalization of Organoboron reagents.

For the third plenary lecture of the day, we have @hering-lab.bsky.social from LIKAT-Rostock, who will be talking about non-classical double bonds, focusing on Phosphaalkenes and Phosphaalumenes.

We are back after lunch. Dr. Alexis Mifleur from @lcmce.bsky.social is taking us through the journey of electrifying chemical transformations in silicon Chemistry, enjoy!

Last lecture before the lunch break, and we have Stav from the Gnaim research group at @weizmanninstitute.bsky.social has taken the centre stage. He will tell us about bridged anthracenes as a precursor for free oxoboranes.

After the coffee break, we are back with @cluchem.bsky.social from the University of Bonn, delivering the first plenary lecture of the day, talking about synergizing p and d block elements for catalysis. Tune in, everyone!
