It’s not “easy” to leave the military if your contract isn’t up. It’s a dishonorable discharge and can affect future employment. Also many people join the military to get tuition coverage and medical insurance. It’s really hard to find jobs with any benefits now. Blame our system first.

Thx for feeling brave to share. It’s way more common than people realize. and they can be happening for different reasons. I hope you have mental health care and people around you that support you.

Looking to start a new gratitude habit, so I am intentionally trying to post once a day something that invoked feelings of gratitude, joy or awww.

Today is a clean counter and tulips given by my platonic Valentines date.

As a disabled person, I rely on transcription software to help take meeting notes and transcripts. Even the "to-do" section is very helpful. I wish there were more ethical companies to get this service from. This is a good use of AI, not trying to make it something it isn't while causing harm...

as a former educator and a grad student, i concur.

I am so glad you are still here trying to live the best way you know how. My heart goes out to you. We are worthy of love and consideration. Thanks for writing something so real that I can share to those close to me so they can have more understanding of this reality. 💕

All of this to say, People who aren’t worried about the risk don’t have this constant fear or mental load that you referenced. As well as isolation because of ableism and people only caring about their comfort. Or not being able to handle the truth of the real risk.

And when I met someone who told me, they would mask in solidarity for me, esp when i am often the only one masking, i started crying. Even my close friends who were CC for a long time, stopped masking with me in public.

I have found one monthly, public, gathering where I probably take too many risks with because it’s a huge room with high ceilings, fans, and huge windows that are usually open to the outside. Though when it’s crowded, I don’t always put a mask on, because I am tired!

in gathering spaces, where my friends come to me. I also got a booster this Summer, and all my friends are vac’d and will cancel if they feel sick at all. There is still risk, but it’s what I have settled on for now.

As a CC disabled person with long covid, I see you. My struggle is as I have had some functioning returned, (60% instead of 30%) I find I take more risks because the pull to be included is so strong. It’s human nature. Luckily for now i have found a balance where I have extra air purifiers…
