06.12.2025 01:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Letβs not get complacent. We gained some ground but still lost in Tennessee. The fact that so many people are still voting for a Trump candidate who will support Trumpβs failing policies is something we need to address in planning for the midterms. We need to stay focused on winning.

A Prayer
open.substack.com/pub/nobadnew...
A prayer for this holiday season.
The Tennessee special election yesterday--
Good news: Aftyn Behn narrowed the winning percentage for Republicans from 22% to 9% since last year.
Bad news: Behn lost because people are still voting for a Trump-endorsed candidate who is likely to back this cruel, failing agenda when he gets to D.C.

The Dept of Ed is proposing changes to what training is considered to be "professional." Tell your reps that nurses, teachers, physical therapists, PAs, and NPs must remain on the DOE list of professionals. Access to financial support for their education is at stake. We need these professionals!

I hope that when it comes time for the Dems to cast their vote on the budget, you all remember that.

09.04.2025 16:41 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Can someone in Washington who is good at economics please do something to lower prices and bring the stock market back up? Whatever you're doing now isn't working; not better like you said it would be. For all the "terrible" economy talk, it seemed better to me last year than now. Anyone else?

How is any teacher retirement fund still invested in Tesla? All should have divested weeks ago for an alternative investment. I am a retired teacher. We should not be supporting Tesla after the DOE cuts, regardless of how the stock is performing. There are other choices.

Strength in Troubled Times open.substack.com/pub/cathy9/p...
Some encouragement on a rainy Thursday.
I really wish that House Republicans were as concerned and outraged about leaks of classified information as they are about PBS and Sesame Street.
26.03.2025 15:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I just came back home after a rally in support of Democracy. Most passersby were supportive, but there were a few thumbs down and a couple of middle finger responses. That struck me as both odd and un-American. Democracy is the foundation of this country. These are confusing times.
15.03.2025 16:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Are you also going to do something about the spineless Dems in the Senate who just voted for that appalling CR? They donβt look any better than the Republicans running away from their responsibilities.

KEEP CALLING. PEEL OFF ALL DEM SENATORS YOU CAN.
βοΈ: (202) 224-3121
Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid.
The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING.
Call retiring Senators too!
To All the Democratic Senators who don't know how to vote on the CR today, some advice--Vote NO on any unilateral CR or budget proposal. Don't accept the propaganda that Dems will be blamed for a gov. shutdown. We are not that stupid. It's obvious to us what's happening.

On the Budget vote moving to the Senate:
Call your Senators now! Ask them to vote NO. The shutdown has been happening for the past 2 months, so nothing new there. Stop the Republican Administration from stealing more from the poor and middle class to give to the rich.
