omg the good old rp group days… tbh that’s where most of my writing experience is from too! i only started writing fic last year!

yeahhhh i saw someone mention the bookbinding community as being very not for profit focused but it gets tricky even then. bc if you bind someone else’s fic as a gift for a friend, then what about the author? some binders always offer the author a copy and some don’t… too many vectors here haha

i used to question it also but i realized that it’s a nice little safe haven from the capitalist horrors. i wouldn’t want fic writing culture to be degraded by monetization the same way artist alley culture has degraded over time due to a focus on profits
