I'm going to disagree because I also don't want anything, and don't want the obligation of an "experience" unless it has been discussed and agreed upon ahead of time. Some of us truly don't want gifts.

I'm the wife in my relationship and I'd hate to buy gifts for me. If I want something it's because I need it immediately. I don't want a bunch of stuff taking up space. My husband is the same. It turns out we're both "acts of service" people. We are happier having realized that, but it took a while.
