Like I said, these have been some of my thoughts over the past few days. I don’t see good changes coming to our military and it’s not just over trans issues. We’re about to have very unqualified people running things in a few months.

Along with that, removing the top brass could have horrific results as well. Back channels to other countries are vital to world peace. It took generals, both serving and former, to keep the orange bastard in line the first time.

The loss of personnel and cost cutting could decrease the success of early warning systems or hinder the government's ability to fend off cyber-attacks.

While we probably won’t see a Red Dawn type of scenario, with paratroopers falling out of the sky, millions of Americans could still be put in harm’s way.

This could have the potential for our adversaries to start examining our weaknesses and will lead to further corruption in the Pentagon.

So, to bring us up to our current time, removing all these service members would be disastrous for our nation’s security. Fifteen thousand people is about the equivalent of disbanding an entire division. Recruiters can’t even hit their quotas, let alone replace a division on top of that.

Although the U.S.S.R. would eventually win, tens of millions of people would lose their lives. The repercussions of that horrible time are still being felt today across Eastern Europe.
