I'm loving Kamen Rider Zeztz btw. We are so back!
I didn't know where it was going the first few episodes but now that we hit 24 I'm super excited for this second half.

The funniest thing about Zeztz is no one ever kills with the toys. They just pull out a regular looking gun.

This is true, but i think even in this climate there is humor to be had if you just do it right.

Hell, even the I Know What You Did Last Summer parodies rely on you knowing certain overlooked facts of that movie.

You have to be familiar with the entire first scream movie.

You know what the difference between the Meghan joke and the Scream 1 jokes in the original Scary Movie are?

Meghan dancing has been done to death and the only thing people seem to remember from those movies, but the jokes for Scream 1 were fresh because you don't notice till they make fun of it.

Honestly my fave parts of the original scary movie specifically is when it's making fun of Scream 1 and I Know What You Did Last Summer. That shit lands because if you seen those movies before, It's accurate to the source, just exaggerated for humor.

They could make fun of the obsession with member berries a lot of movies have now, but i doubt they'll be that clever.

Obvious the dick clown thing in scary movie 2 wasn't that funny. Those movies had their problems, but like, this time its just boring on the nose jokes with zero punchline.

I don't know. Ray being gay, at least for me, the joke wasn't at the expense of gay people or homosexuality itself. The joke was he himself was a depraved homosexual.

I don't think it was saying "Homosexuality, amirite" like the pronouns thing.

At least how I viewed it.

However, the offensive jokes now just seem tired. I seen these jokes before made by unfunny people. They aren't unique and if anything they seem to exist in a artificial way.

Its like "They/Them amirite!?" Where even is the joke? "Haha, pronouns".

At least the first two. They are funny because the humor is being naturally developed by funny people. Even if it's offensive it's not touching on some key note hot button issue. I say this while acknowledging some jokes did go to far.

I can still laugh at those movies though.

Okay, so while humor is subjective, I think the reason this trailer doesn't land for me is because it feels artificial.

I don't know. Humor is organic and situational. Especially if you're doing offensive humor. There feels a stark difference between the humor in the first Scary Movie and this one.

I mean, I enjoy some older films with some problematic humor, so it's not that I'm being too woke here.

Jokes just feel . . . cringe and outdated.

Its like trying to be as offensive as the old ones not understanding why some of those jokes landed.

My reaction watching that Scary Movie 6 trailer.

I'm not upset by this btw. The story implications alone is going to make this latter half very interesting.

If they were going to make deaths not permanent, this is how you do it.

When I said that Nox's death wasn't permanent, I figure they would do something to bring him back. Was not expecting a run back, but plot wise, this is less ass pully.
