Such a beautiful book. I had a copy from the 1980s that I had loved for decades and gave it to a friend who recently discovered those beautiful illustrations. She posts an image from it at the start of each month. I love that she's introducing more people so that it will never be forgotten!

You two! What a fun and imaginative bit of theatre! That's very cool and the paper dress is absolutely extraordinary.

They are! Usually we see them for a day and then they're gone again but because this pair hung out for nearly a week, we were able to watch their activity. Had no idea they were divers! I hope yours hang out for a while :-)

We had a migrating pair on our small water in KY a couple of weeks ago. They're so fun to watch as they paddle around and dive.

Looking straight down at a shiny black cat curled up on a Hudson Bay blanket. The cat is solid black, shiny, and a little bit dusty; his back is to the left, tail curled from the bottom of the frame up to the right around his belly, and his head is at the top, nose buried in the blanket. The wool blanket is cream with black, yellow, and red stripes arranged diagonally beneath the cat.

It would've helped but that dude was on the move! It was about an inch long.
