🌀️ Mostly sunny to start and warm once again, with a high near 70° in Denver. Clouds increase this afternoon and it'll turn breezy as well, with 20-30 mph gusts in Denver and 40-50 mph gusts in the foothills.

🌑️ A cold front tonight will drop temps to the 50s tomorrow.

Congrats, Denver: This officially won't be our least snowy winter on record.

After 8.5" of snow on Friday at DIA, Denver is now 0.6" ahead of our least snowy winter on record (1888-89, 21.3").

Yay.

@ksutpublicradio.bsky.social Our biggest weather story this week will probably be fire danger on Thursday and Saturday, with 60-80 mph foothills winds possible.

It's 71Β° in Denver right now...just a reminder we got a half-foot of snow 3 days ago.

we had a nice 3-4 weeks of slightly above average mountain snow, but that appears over now, unfortunately.

Honestly, not sure I want to know what these numbers are going to look like in a few weeks.

Realistic possibility this is our lowest snowpack peak/earliest melt on record (38 years), based on the outlook for the rest of March.

Still early to talk about summer, but obviously this isn't good.

Map showing progression of tornado warnings across southern Michigan, including a warning for Union City.

First, the funding cutbacks at NWS did not contribute to a lack of a tornado watch.

Second, all of southern Lower Michigan was in a 2% tornado risk area for every outlook on Friday.

Third, I'd be more concerned if they didn't issue a tornado warning, but warnings were in place.

Denver’s got a better chance of hitting 80Β° than getting snow over the next two weeks. Yikes.

🌑️ Mostly sunny and warmer with a high near 70° in Denver (record: 77°, 1989), and a bit breezier with 20-30 mph gusts in the afternoon.

🌀️ Similar tomorrow but less windy, before a brief cooldown on Wednesday. No meaningful rain or snow chances this week.

🌀️ Goodbye, snow: Mostly sunny and warmer than yesterday, with highs spiking into the low 60s in Denver with a few more clouds than yesterday.

🌑️ Even warmer tomorrow with a high near 70° and turning breezy as well, before a chance for rain showers Tuesday night.

Yes, Denver got more snow than expected yesterday. But:

1) Most important: it was a low-impact 'miss'. The snow (as expected) was entirely on colder surfaces. It didn't shut down traffic.

2) Saying Denver is going to get 14" of snow 8 days out is still reckless. That doesn't change.

07.03.2026 18:17 β€” πŸ‘ 46    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

8.5" total snow yesterday in Denver (DIA) = officially Denver's snowiest day since Nov. 8, 2024 (484 days ago). I definitely did not think we'd get nearly that much yesterday.

Downtown got 5-6" on colder surfaces...it'll be mostly melted off by 6p.

β˜€οΈ After a cold start with some black ice, it'll warm up nicely with a high near 50Β° in Denver, right around average for this time of the year. Winds stay mainly light.

🌑️ Much warmer tomorrow (low 60s) and Monday (near 70°) and dry in Denver.

No doubt today's storm brought more snow than expected. Upper low tracked a bit south and stronger, and slightly earlier cold front arrival kept us closer to freezing.

Always lessons to learn, and thrilled it was 1) lower impact (wet roads in town) and 2) good moisture!

It's officially Denver's biggest snowstorm so far this winter - 7.5" at DIA = top snow of the season. Some of that has already melted, though.

Worth noting downtown got closer to 4-5". Solid storm nonetheless!

2:40p: Surface low intensifying over southeastern Colorado = winds are picking up over eastern Colorado.

Accumulating snow in Denver is mostly done below 6k feet. Steady snow/impacts above 6k in the foothills + mountains for the rest of today.

Denver snow ends 6-9p.
