Meanwhile - I grew up in a house with a family member with hearing loss… a very loud Italian family, so its not like I'm not used to this… I just feel like everything around me is at 11 and I want to shut it off and just have QUIET.

overwhelmed by how men speak in media. Is every man on every podcast - in every youtube video just YELLING, of is it just the ones that are listened to in my house? Are they just playing them too loud? I can't escape from it!

I need to know if this is just me, if its perimenopause, if its fatigue from the current political environment….

Painting by John Singer Sargent: a dark-haired fair-skinned woman in a long white satin gown with upstanding gold lace framing her neck & head, a long strand of pearls circling her body twice, pinned under her bodice and passing around her waist. Over it she wears a long red satin coat, full-sleeved, open. She leans negligently against a high white marble mantlepiece with an elaborately carved capital

Someone clever once said
Women were not allowed pockets
In case they carried leaflets
To spread sedition
Which means unrest
To you & me
A grandiose word
For commonsense
Fairness
Kindness
Equality
So ladies, start sewing
Dangerous coats
Made of pockets & sedition

My 14 yo does this too! Same with all of his friends - I swear they will call each other and not talk - just leave the line open so they can hear each other comment on whatever video game they’re playing 🤣
