The fact that the alleged ICE agents are willing to do what they’re doing in Chicago while refusing to show official identification leads me to infer the following: 1) the alleged agents are well aware that the people they are apprehending/abducting are not hardened and/or dangerous criminals, and 2) the alleged agents have very little (if any at all) law enforcement training. (Credibly identifying oneself as a law enforcement officer is a matter of officer safety; if a dangerous criminal doesn’t know you’re an LEO, they’re far more likely to likely to shoot you) Moreover, I would argue that the fact that these alleged federal agents haven’t been shot—or, at least, shot at—while doing what they’re doing tells us that Chicago is nowhere near the “war zone” that Trump has claimed it to be.
