And/or also only have this spider pet on a very poor avatar so many others will have your avatar off by default anyways

And then say loudly to those around you "is anyone afraid of spiders?" And tell anyone who is to turn off your avatar before you spawn the spider pet

I brought a friend into VRC tonight who had been on but not into the rave scene too much
So I took them on a small tour of the music community for the night
They were TRANSFIXED by the map and the event, we stayed there the longest tonight

Imo, no shortage of heavier bass music in VRC and I think the hate is overblown/the haters are just much louder than the fans of it

No hate for riddim/tearout/heavier bass music/people who play it
It can be super fun!

It just overstimulates me to listen to for more than a few minutes in a set

Some nights, I hop worlds and it's ALL heavy bass, tearout, and riddim for like 4 worlds in a row

We had a little listening party in my group's VC for it
I was immediately impressed with the chill Sloppy Seconds flip, never heard Watsky in a VRC DJ's set
We all loved your set and really saw your personality coming out in it

I wasn't able to fix it, I had to install Process Lasso and set it up to have it clear my RAM once a minute

Prerecorded sets are necessary for certain types of events or due to technical limitations
But if someone puts on their set and then walks down to go talk to the audience as opposed to doing crowd work, working on visuals, etc then imo, that isn't much of a performance

Butttt most of the residents are also my good friends so I just see it as helping a homie out if they need/want more bookings
You're totally right about the unpaid intern aspect of it though lmao

As an event coordinator/club owner, I kinda end up as a promoter/manager for our DJs (especially resident DJs)
Not solely because they kind of do that themselves as well
But if I see opportunities, I let the DJs know about it and help get them connected with the other groups/coordinators

There's a huge difference between someone co-opting PLUR for their own self-interests
Or they like the idea of PLUR but then don't actually live it

And those who actually live it

People/ravers as a whole, are neither perfectly good nor evil
Easy to find problematic folks in the VRC community imo

The beta alanine in C4 makes me feel like I want to rip my skin off
Hard miss for me, the stinging under the skin is quite unpleasant
Love energy drinks but that ain't the one for me
