The number of Trump voters I know who are now begging their communities to join in support of SNAP recipients, seniors, food banks, etc. is astounding. Yet, they won’t see THEY helped get us here. By the way, the rest of us have already been helping. They’re preaching to the choir.

My grandpa was a retired chief of police, so I back the blue.

But the # of cops (& spouses) in my small community denouncing or making fun of #NoKings is one reason many distrust police. The optics aren't great when the very people tasked w/ protecting our rights aren't supportive of those rights.

I'm anti-fascism, and I love America.

For the love of all that is good and holy, I cry every time I run over one of these gentle creatures because there's no avoiding them on the highways without swerving to my doom.

Every activated Guardsman has a family, a job, school, or something that they are leaving to do their duty.

It’s one thing when it’s a war… or a real mass civil disturbance, which those only last a few days.

But to rip these people from their lives for a show… is awful.

Yes! It served as the inspiration for a program at our local high school, which provides free books each month to any student interested in building/adding to their own library. No forms. No income guidelines. No paperwork. Just kids who love to read.

Now that I'm a member of my BOE, I continue to support those in the media. I've worked in journalism and/or the media my entire career. Their work is vital to transparency. Viewing them as an enemy or an impediment rather than as a partner is a disservice to society.

I was online & sharing updates via social media. I was then asked (not-so-nicely) during a break to cease. Why? Because board members might feel uncomfortable about speaking up during the meeting. I was dumbfounded. Journalists were seated in the gallery. It was an open meeting. I politely refused.

I began attending school board meetings when I was contemplating running. I was the only non-employee/non-media in the gallery. At my first meeting, I was asked (nicely) what I was doing there; only because it was unusual to have a citizen show up who didn't have a beef. LOL Meeting started.

Now THAT's a cease and desist letter

As a Christian, when I hear people blame God for a tragedy like this, I'm basically ready to throat-punch someone.

Because in this case, God had a LOT of help in the form of bad decisions made by His own people.

People failed those sweet babies. Not God.

If I had a dollar for every MAGA-loving profile I click on that says they love God, I'd be rich enough to qualify for the new tax breaks for the oligarchs. Why have so many Christians failed the basic "What Would Jesus Do?" test?

I try not to be judgy when people complain about things. Yet it’s pretty much a guarantee if I click on one’s profile to see posts re: anti-vaxxing, chem trails “they’re spraying us like bugs!!” and other conspiracies. Sweetheart, college parking woes are the LEAST of your worries.

My red state governor has put us on high alert to watch for and report on any suspicious Iranian sleeper cell activity.

Ok.

However, I'm more worried about fake ICE agents, people getting disappeared, January 6 rioters, Christian Nationalists and vaccination deniers.

And menopause hot flashes.

P.S. My mom was a military wife during Vietnam. My sister-in-law while my career military brother served multiple tours in war zones. He accuses me of not understanding how crippling the worry can be because I didn't serve? PUH-lease. Is this the military version of mansplaining?

I've known this guy since college, so it's not as if he's a stranger, a keyboard warrior, who knows nothing about me or my background.

Even going so far as to admit the guy he (probably) voted for is an idiot. I don't want to assume. Just as he made a lot of assumptions about me. (I'm an Independent, not a Democrat, and get my news from newspapers, the AP, NPR and the BBC.)
