It's real hard to be creative, and feel like there's a future in what you're making, when the world keeps on being so shit.

Having a hard time reconciling my hate of AI and seeing Square Enix firing people while announcing their plans to use AI instead, with my love for FFXIV and the fact that designing merch for the game is such a large part of my life. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't considered just giving it up.

🥹 Thank you. I should really set it up as a proper display some time. Still trying to turn my "printing room" into a proper little production space. At the moment it's just the spare room with my clothes & random storage that just to happens to contain my printers too.

Had a slight issue with the LEDs coming unstuck. I think it's because I didn't fasten the cables.

That is rough. Just remember it can stay with you for a while, kicking your ass in ways you didn't realise so take it easy on yourself.

I got myself a lighting kit as a late bday present but I wanted to hide the LED strips from direct view & angle them towards my figures. I modelled some simple wedges in #Solidworks & an hour of #3dprinting later they were complete. Now my #Transformers #Soundwave collection is nicely illuminated :D

I've been having a lot of fun working on my 3D Printed Soundwave Tardis Transformer, but fear not, I'll be returning to working on #FFXIV #3DPrinting projects soon >:D

Being able to get professional #CAD software use for £50/yr (as long as you make under £2,000 from it's use) is amazing, but making someone use 3DExperience is the worst.

I've been using #Solidworks for 16 years, I am team Solidworks. But Dassault Systèmes "3D Experience" dashboard website is one of the most useless, over complicated and convoluted platforms I've ever used.

Nowadays I collect Soundwave and only Soundwave. I'm trying to get every Soundwave I can find (and afford) but even if I could afford that I would refuse to get it. As a collector and a designer that figure/statue is nothing but an insult.

I may have made it myself, but it is technically now a #Soundwave in my collection, so onto my other account it goes. #transformers #3dprinting

BUT for this Soundwave I imagine he scanned a police box as a quick disguise and instead experienced the entire Cybertronian war in an instant, after which he set out to help transformers through time and ensure the timeline proceeds as intended.

In some comics Soundwave has gone through various redemption arks, showing he ultimately only wanted equality for his people. While he does some pretty dark things in some continuities, I still like to think of his character as 'doing wrong for the right reason'.
