Chairman John Ray Clemmons committee remarks supporting HB179,A bill to protect the lives and rights of women who are victims of rape and incest.

This afternoon Rep. Hakeem presented HB179- a bill to decriminalize abortion in cases that jeopardize the life of the mother, rape, and incest. It failed along party lines.

HB570, 12pm Population Health Subcommittee

“Pro-life” party unless you’re a woman in TN. TN women already face among the highest maternal mortality rates in the country, and now a bill has been filed to criminalize women who seek abortions. HB570 has the potential to charge these women with murder; a death penalty offense

TN Republicans have filed legislation to provide civil immunity to pesticide corporations, leaving our farmers w/o legal remedies in the event of a health diagnosis linked to chemicals found in the pesticide. HB809 was taken off notice today but we suspect it’s far from done

Tennesseans want state government focused on decreasing the cost of living and quality of life issues, but Tennessee Republicans are ignoring the affordability crisis facing families & the budget crisis Republicans have created & opting instead to embrace a discriminatory Stephen Miller D.C. agenda.
