Regina's name is Johanna and the only person that would still call her that if she was still alive is her mother. Her dad clearly prefered the name Regina and in a way, he is right. It fits her way better no matter how much she tries to deny it.

Regina used to be her middle name and she always felt like it was a mouthful. She used to like her first name more but due to circumstances, most people would call her Regina instead. Her friends and peers nicknamed her Gina or Regi instead of the strenuous and posh Regina and it stuck with her.

Her apartment is clean and organised until she lands herself in another research marathon and her home becomes an office that also conveniently functions as a place to sleep. Gina is really bad at keeping her home work balance in tact and you can see it in every aspect of her life.

Gina has a two bedroom appartment despite being filthy rich. She's single, her kid lives with her parents and she's a workaholic so she doesn't really need that big a space to live. It's burried in books, papers and other scholastic paraphernalia.

And her taking shortcuts isn't laziness, it's efficiency. Gina is looking for constant mental stimulation even when she's forced to play the part of a normal functioning person and it results in her being somewhat of an ass.

She might get bored fast or seem like she's uninterested at times but that isn't because she's lazy or getting by by doing the bare minimum. It's situational and happens only when she's either being restricted/limited in her pursuit or is forced to play by someone else's rules.

It's usually taken for granted but saying Gina is really intelligent is actually only half of the credit that she deserves. She isn't just talented, she's also extremely hard working. Gina is the person that was blessed with high intellect and is also putting 100% of that intellect into practice.
