Mohammad Rasoulof Had to Escape Iran to Finish His Most Daring Film Yet
Facing an eight-year prison sentence, Mohammad Rasoulof had to make the most difficult decision of his life.

It may be that thereβs a sense among some in philosophy that that βflashyβ self-promotion (e.g., a sleek website) indicates weakness of the work itself. (βCanβt the material speak for itself?β)
Itβs an unfortunate attitude, if real: a nice site should be a sign of ability to professionalize.

Blaming grad students for reductions because they fought for equitable compensation is disingenuous: it obscures that the university is making *decisions* about their budget priorities. Naturally, equitable wages was going to cost the university more. But, the university chooses how to adapt.
