when we were having trouble, i came to the people of Bluesky to recruit just even one last-minute artist. and so many people came to our aid that i had to start turning volunteers away!

now they're all finally done, and our friends in Palestine couldn't be happier.

some people asked for drawings of cartoon characters. some asked to have their homes back, their toys, their families. and some described detailed political pieces they wanted to see come to life.

we spent months looking for the artists that could do that.

for every $25 milestone we reached last event (up to $575, where we ran out of people to ask), our volunteer artists drew doodles personally requested by people living in Palestine for no charge.

that's 23 doodles that we were able to give out to children and friends of the event. 🧵

to everyone who joined the Discord not even knowing if they'd be able to help out: THANK YOU! you don't know how big of a motivator this is!
we have no set-in-stone plans for our next event, but we really appreciate everyone who trusted us enough to hop in despite that. we won't let you down!

thank you everyone for all of the signal boosting on our previous recruitment post! it's getting honestly a lot more attention than i thought it would, and our discord is BUMPING!

it's looking like we'll be able to wrap up our final drawings by the end of August!

d4p admin here! it's in the most recent #announcements post. do note though that this CTA was actually a bigger success than i thought and a few artists have jumped into the boat now! that means i might end up needing to decline future volunteers (playing by ear for the next few days though)
