A Canadian here. A country that Trump has repeatedly said he wants to “annex”. We fought for your survival in the Second World War and suffered a terrible toll in deaths. Why is the U.K. not standing up for either Ukraine today or Canada?

What really disappoints me so far though is the lack of a response from either Starmer or Trudeau in defence of Ukraine today. Notable by their absences from the collective vocal European support for Ukraine in the face of Trump's abandoning our ally.

I agree, although I would like to think after Canada's support for the very survival of Britain in the Second World War that Starmer would have the guts to say something in Canada's defence.

True. It is also clear that there is no value to having the US in NATO, at least while this man is in office. Also, surely we need to reconsider the terms on which NATO allies share military intelligence with the Trump regime.
