I'm not gonna be punching down on people for it, and I'd genuinely like to educate people on the risks it poses, but do it in a way where 'non-engineers' can understand

I feel like it might be time to write a blog post about vibe coding, why you probably shouldn't do it, and what's involved in a typical VCSCO ('vibe code slop cleanup operation')

Maybe it's better to ask "Do you understand when to use <feature> and how to implement it?", or maybe even "Have you ever used <feature> in any of your projects?" - if you're trying to determine feature usage, understanding, and barriers, of course.

I feel like an "It depends" option (with a text-box for further explanation) on the questions on page 3 would be advantageous, and maybe a "I've never heard of this" option.

'Do you use <feature>' being yes or no takes project-specific requirements and knowledge out of the equation.

As a react-native developer, I know that there's been some times when the bundler has borked out and won't update on reload.

But that's happened a handful of times since I started working with RN in 2018.

20+ page refreshes, 10+ minute cache times that I can't control? You are having a fucking laugh.

It should not take hours for me to make changes which should take only minutes. This is a miserable experience.

This isn't even browser-side caching, since it happens even if I open a completely different browser (or a Firefox container tab) which has never seen the site before.

There's a reason why local bundle servers are a thing and why millions of collective hours have been contributed to them.

Imagine this:

- You make a change to some CSS
- You refresh the page
- It shows the previous version
- You refresh again
- It still shows the previous version
- *repeat 20+ times*
- Eventually it updates... but you made a typo
- Fix typo
- Refresh page
- It shows the previous version

Trying to develop ecommerce themes is a miserable experience.

Server-side pushing for what should be local development is bullshit when caching can stick around for 10+ minutes.

(No, the themes are not for the big company you're probably thinking of)

Mostly, I'm keen to experiment more with NextJS and start building out side-projects again.

It's been too long since I last had a serious side-project.

This is just a side-project, and is hosted on Supabase. Potentially could be deployed to other DB's, but would need RLS adjusting to account for auth.

For context, it seems more likely to trigger *if* players go through the portal before he starts doing his speech, but I can't actually confirm whether this is true because random keys and the time it takes to get through the instance.

Can we get a fix for 'Viz'aduum' in upper Karazhan? Going through the portal to the last ship, and it randomly despawns about 75% of the time, completely resetting the fight.

So I learned the APIs somewhat properly, and did a much better job, but it was still messy.
