**(un)Straight Lines**: Especially in things like swords/weapons, objects that should be straight tend not to be, especially if they are overlapped/intersected with another object. **Small Details**: while these get lost at a first glance, high resolution images take longer to compute, so typically upscaling is used instead after the fact, meaning smaller details will likely be blurry, unreadable, or nonsensical. Actual artists tend to be much better at miniaturizing these sort of details to still be legible. **White Backgrounds**: White backgrounds tend to be overrepresented in AI images, as they tend to generate by default in cases where an explicit background is not described. (note: weird off-whites tend to be much more common than an actual pure white)

**Spikes/Tendrils**: side effect of the diffusion process, they tend to look unnatural, unplanned, or superfluous. **Standard Resolutions/Aspect Ratios**: most AI images come default including 512, 768, 1024 or similar numbers in their resolution. Digital artists tend to use different standards, with usually quite high resolution canvas sizes (300dpi is **very** common). Traditional or hybrid artists tend to use common paper or canvas sizes/ratios. **Common Tropes**: AI is trained on the internet's collection of images, meaning your common AI images will tend to feature overused, cliché, or trendy styles, compositions, and etc. **Women/Attractiveness**: Since there is an abundance of women's images on the internet (especially overly conventionally attractive/edited on social media) women tend to be overrepresented, and more stereotypical/standard. All people tend to look more like models than regular people.

When you're looking for stock art for your TTRPG project here are some giveaways to help you differentiate between weird (derogatory) and weird (complimentary) and avoid AI stuff stolen from actual artists and produced at environmentally subsidised costs.
