You've heard the reading of it by Samuel L. Jackson, right?

This is quite a strong critique from a

Well between that and not addressing the literature, I would say it is proof placement does not measure quality.

Yale Law scholar dismisses and entire field of scholarly inquiry on the grounds that it has not engaged deeply with the law-and-economics literature. It is 6 pages and it cites to only five LPE articles--including none of the articles in the same symposium!

So citing literature that runs contrary to their views is not likely.
Law professors do this as well. As I pointed out to one famous law prof noting he didn't cite contrary literature, he replied, "I've read your work and don't agree." Okay, but a whole literature disagrees with you, not just me.
The irony is that most economists do not read except in their very limited realm. As an example, IO economists who are surprised that no one things surplus theories of welfare are good measures except IO economists.
Or Law & econ folks touting theories that have been proven flawed for 50 years.
It certainly has a familiar tone to it.

Are some of us not considered LPE scholars so as to suggest LPE doesn't engage in economics?
Or did the author not do sufficient research? For example, at the LPE conference numerous panels presented on economics.
Either way, seriously troublesome omissions.

Delighted that my article, "Race, Reparative Justice, and Climate Change-Related Migration" has been published by the FIU Law Review! I'm very grateful to the marvelous FIU students who edited this work and the many generous colleagues who provided comments.
