Don't wear it unless you need to. A windproof will often suffice.
If you do wear it try to avoid wearing a backpack / race vest over the top - this reduces the wear and loss of waterproofing on the shoulders.

Today's lunch stop. Just enough room under my DD Hammocks Superlight S tarp to shelter from the rain.

Next week's spot prize is a Sunblesa H11 head torch. Not really bright enough for fell running but great for camping and as a backup and emergency torch. I always carry one in my first aid kit.

Head torch with bright yellow strap. Switched on and placed on a log with dead leaves.
Same tent, same torch but using different settings.

Cheers, thanks for watching.
Yes especially with fell running shoes that don't get used on particularly hard surfaces. Non linear decrease makes sense.
For me it's caused by not slackening the laces enough when I put them on / off! If it was from wear whilst running I'd have scars on my achilles.

I'd need to check RRP. The previous version was Β£65, not sure if the 2025 version has gone up.
I'd use this for running, I've got the NU25 for backpacking -lighter and cheaper but still plenty bright enough.
Looking forward to trying the new Nitecore UT27 MCT head torch.
MCT = Multiple Colour Temperatures - cool white, neutral white and warm, for use in different conditions (warm light is supposedly better in fog)
Comes with a USB-C rechargeable Li-ion battery and can also take 3 x AAA batteries.

The threat of showers meant I took my DD Hammocks Superlight tarp. It turned out to be sunny but I put it up anyway π
