Weighted average. The way they truncated the quote for the social media post removed that important context.

That was my first instinct, but the direct distance often doesn't reflect our real-world experiences. Barriers like rivers or highways can make two points feel farther apart, and amenities like rapid transit and bike trails can make two points feel closer together.

Moving an entire apartment via bicycles!

@ianrbuck.bsky.social is moving across town, so we got three ebikes and a few trailers and got to work. 2 trips later and Ian's place has desks, a bed, table, bookshelf and a couch!

I'm going to blame one here instead of zero. There's no reason that we had to have a singular case at all; in Esperanto, for example, the word "estas" means "is/are" regardless of how many things there are.

The members of the state legislature who represent our urban core would never go for an arrangement that isn't population representative. And since the legislature is population representative, we should be safe there.
