The dismissals appeared to violate federal law, which requires Congress to receive 30 days’ notice of any intent to fire a Senate-confirmed inspector general.
I’m not surprised. I can’t imagine anyone Trump would hate more than independent investigators who are supposed to monitor civil servants. Remember, this is about ending meritocracy and installing political loyalty.
